The Beach

Cabanas boasts one of the most beautiful and picturesque beaches I have ever seen. It can be seen from the mainland and set on small island with a only lagoon standing between you and white sandy heaven. The lagoon and the island are part of the Ria Formosa natural park which about half of the eastern Algarve coast line - 60 km in total.

The beach can be reached by a short boat trip with tickets costing as little as €1 euro return per person or if your feeling energetic and the tide is out, you can dive into the pale blue water and swim across.

Praia de Cabanas has its own cafe-bar, showers and toilet facilities, sunshades to rent and water sports such as windsurfing, sailing and jet-skiing and is supervised during the 'beach season'.
